Republican Nominee's

Well, I accidentally deleted a blog from yesterday where I stated that I though Mike Huckabee seemed to be stepping up as a true conservative who could actually be elected. Unfortunately he doesn't have the voter backing as of yet, I sure hope that changes.

I will try to detail a bit why I think he is the man to "lead" the Conservative movement. What he says is not unusual, the way he delivers it is not exceptional, he simply is a real conservative, with heartfelt conviction.

1) Rudy G.  He is not a conservative, he is pro abortion, lightning struck when he was about to expound on his pro abortion views.   He won't get my vote.   He is a fiscal conservative, but a social liberal.

2) Mitt Romney- Mitt is a weather vane. If the wind is blowing one way, so is his viewpoint.  No way he wins. Pretty boy who I hope sees his candidacy fade very soon. He is the Republican version of  Mr. good hair.

3) Tommy Thompson, conservative, would have no chance for election. May be a shame but he couldn't win a national election.

4) Fred Thompson, actor, who has the look and the voice, but I don't see it.  I simply don't.  Not to split hairs but some of his stances seem to be more political motivation than conviction. A trait I see in common with our current President.

5) John McCain,  though I respect what he went through and sacrificed, he just won't be President and I don't like some of his viewpoints.

6) Huckabee another Arkansan born in Hope Arkansas, was a Southern Baptist Pastor for years and though nobody will agree with everything he says or does, is a REAL conservative from a humble background. His conviction seems to be from the heart and his entire life up until his political career had been aimed at serving God an his fellow man.  Some say he appears a bit weak, but it seems more like meekness not weakness, which is a positive.  I think the country could support a man like Huckabee in office.

My hope is that he gathers momentum and starts to challenge the front runners. I realize he is a long way from it, but there is a lot of time.

If Rudy is nominated, i will not vote for him, I would "throw away" my vote more than likely for a Constitutional Party candidate or similar candidate.

Tom Tancredo from Colorado is the only other candidate that I like that has some "pop" to him, but again I don't see him as electable.
